About this site
This is a space for thinking Christianly about culture, politics, theology, and the ideas shaping our world. The name says it: punctum (point) and dictum (pronouncement). We aim for clarity in analysis and conviction in conclusion.
What to expect:
Thoughts on Biblical Christianity heavily informed by the Doctrines of Grace & wider Reformation theology, cultural critique through a classically liberal lens, and commentary on the ideas—both good and bad—presently competing for hearts and minds. Some posts dig into Scripture, some into current events, some into the intersection of both. All assume the primacy of the gospel and the inerrant reliability of God's Word.
Yeah, but who's the author?
A Christian dude who believes words have meaning, truth exists, and ideas have consequences. I write under a pseudonym, not merely for anonymity's sake, but to let the arguments stand on their own merit. Judge the content, not the credentials. And if you're even-handed in your assessments, we might just have the pleasure of actually meeting some day.
What won't you find here:
Clickbait, virtue signaling, or hot takes designed to go viral. This isn't a platform for personality, but for ideas tested against Scripture and reason. If that sounds boring, you're probably in the wrong place. If it sounds necessary, then welcome!
The worldview:
Christ is Lord. Scripture is authoritative. Truth is knowable. The culture is confused...but not beyond reach. The church is called to faithfulness, not relevance. Theology matters because ideas shape lives, and ideas are only as clear as the words that carry them. And to rightly bear this freight, we must be able to rely on the meanings of words—they're actual definitions—not just the feelings they evoke. Without this, we lose the ability to speak truth at all.
How to engage:
Read. Think. Disagree if you must, but thoughtfully. Share what's useful, ignore what isn't. If you're looking for an echo chamber, keep scrolling. If you're looking for some iron sharpening, kick off your sandals & set awhile.
